HSW Councillor Bob Childs leads History of Watertown bus tours for third graders from the Cunniff, Hosmer and Lowell Elementary Schools each June. These events bring to life the history depicted in the coloring book Early Watertown 1630-1776, which is used as part of the school system's history curriculum and which is provided by the Historical Society for distribution to all Watertown third grade students, along with a teacher's resource packet. This program is supported in part by a grant from the Watertown Cultural Council, a local agency which is supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency.
